GPT-Live updates: what OpenAI shipped, and when

Every entry here is one dated change to the GPT-Live voice models, written separately from the guides so that a reader arriving from a search result gets the change itself first: what shipped, who gets it, what it does not change, and what could not be verified when the entry was written. The guides linked below carry the standing background and are updated on their own schedule.

This log starts on 2026-10-17 and is written from primary sources at the time of each entry. Where a source could not be read directly, the entry says so instead of quietly using a second-hand figure. Not affiliated with OpenAI.

Updates, newest first

That is the only entry so far. Earlier changes to the consumer voice experience were folded into the guides rather than logged here, so their dates sit on the pages themselves: the pillar guide carries the model and availability background, the languages page covers the setting and accent caveats, and the API page tracks the developer model and its price.

How these entries are written

  • Primary sources first. OpenAI's announcement, release notes, system card or developer documentation, read directly wherever they load.
  • Second-hand figures are labelled. If a page or document refused to load, the entry says which one, and treats the number as reported rather than verified.
  • No measured claim without a measurement. Vendor prose with no published number is quoted as prose, not restated as a result.
  • Nothing is described as tested unless it was. Each entry states whether anything was run first-hand.
